Not resolved!!!

Original review posted by user May 17, 2022
I used my first Simple Truth product: Boneless and Skinless Chicken Thighs! The front of the package looked adequate. Once opened and turned over, it was all fat and skin. I managed to dissect the chicken and discovered that 2/3rds of this $4.99 per pound chicken was wasted $5.42 was fat and skin and $2.71 was useable, yet I paid $8.13. It did not meet the amount I needed for the recipe I was using. Then when I cooked it up for myself, it was rubbery and lacked taste. I used for myself and took a different brand of chicken for the dish I wanted to serve to others.

User's recommendation: I will never but this brand, it was an Instacart replacement and I tried.

"Freshly Frozen Sliced Strawberries and Bananas" used whole strawberries. Salt content in burgers is too high.

"Sliced strawberries" should be sliced. I went by the label. I avoid their prepared foods because of the salt content. Hilary's is the best veggie burger I've found.

User's recommendation: Try a small quantity first.

I was pouring the simple truth organic vegetable broth and something moldy came out along with some slime substance. The product does not expire until November 13th of this year.

Bought cooked shrimp. Tasted like rubber. Couldn’t even chew it.

Shrimp was inedible Tasted like it was over cooked at the factory. Ended up making my husband sick. Would not recommend it to anyone.

User's recommendation: Don’t waste your money.

How can I get a refund?

I bought the Simple Truth Organic chicken bone broth, and the safety seal was broken, and there was no way for me to tell it was broken in the store. I don't feel safe consuming this product, as there is no way for me to tell if it has been tampered with or poisoned. Would it be possible for me to receive a refund? I bought two of them for 3.99 each.

Observation

The non-dairy plant-based, sliced cheese has the most unpalatable taste. It's as if they realized they could make a great deal of money off unsuspecting customers and not be bothered to develop a respectable product. If you prefer the taste of cardboard to the depth of a cheese medley, please waste your money as I have.

You try to find the damned directions on Butternut Squash. Hide and seek and STUPID and insensitive to the customer. And also., just try to cut pasta HA impossible with a normal fork or spoon

Care for the customer trying to prepare Butternut Squash for the first time. Green green green Everything is green And even when you get there, very difficult to read.

User's recommendation: hope you are a patient (and not too hungry) person. Allow time to find the damned directions.

Rip off!

I bought several 15 ounce cans of beans, called "Tri-bean Blend", a mix of kidney, pinto and black beans. Unlike EVERY OTHER brand on the market, their 15 ounce cans only contain a few ounces of beans, less than half a can & the rest is water! Don't advertise 15 oz. of beans, and you only get 6 or 7 ounces in the can!

User's recommendation: Wouldn't recommend.

Disappointed

Every time I buy the Simple Truth eggs I have to throw at least half of them away. I always test my eggs in water and at least 50% of them float. They are not the cheapest eggs and so I feel I am now paying double the premium price for the eggs I can actually use. This is not the first time it has happened. I only complain after at least 3 bad experiences.

Feedback and suggestion

I am not a pissed customer. I love the Simple Truth products which I bought or regularly buy - but I would like to make the following suggestions to be true to the organic and environmentally friendly vision of the company - use environmental neutral glass instead of plastic for peanut/nut creams etc - use South African products rather than from other countries ( I was shocked to find that the peanut butter actually came from India, while we have South African Peanut Farmers - if the market is still developing, encourage them to go organic, please. I m not even sure whether the India-Peanuts are organic or not, just cheaper. If they are not, we can well eat - South African peanuts.

Curious about sustainability of packaging

Simple Truth - Curious about sustainability of packaging
I am confused about something. Your box of Simple Truth tea says organic, and "simple truth" has a connotation that it might be nature friendly as well. The cardboard box says recycle. The teabag is recyclable. Why is it packaged in a hard plastic sleeve that is not recyclable? I am probably not the only person who would like to see this changed. Forgive me if I am mistaken about the material used to make the sleeve for the teabags.

Directions

Bought Simple Truth Roasted Pork. It was very good. They need to add one sentence to the directions. It shows a picture of a skillet on the stove with a lid on it and how long to cook. (The directions I used to time a vegetable to go with it.) Underneath that it showed a picture with the lid off that says "stir occasionally until sauce reduces to a creamy consistency." Instead, it should say, "take lid off. Continue cooking stirring occasionally until sauce reduces to a creamy consistency."
